After a successful year of online and offline gaming events in 2021, EPIC.LAN and Intel have renewed their partnership for 2022, continuing to focus on community gaming and grassroots esports.

During 2021, EPIC.LAN delivered a regular series of online events before starting a gradual and careful return to the LAN hall with its flagship event EPIC34 in October which saw a near-normal event at its regular home of Kettering Conference Centre in the UK.

The renewed partnership will benefit casual and competitive gamers at EPIC.LAN with a range of technology demonstrations, content, giveaways and elevated quality of the event technical infrastructure.

Casual gamers will see a modified version of the Intel Community Championship which will open up more opportunities to win by taking part in a range of fun activities during the events, while aspiring esports players will also see Intel headline all three of EPIC.LAN’s CSGO tournaments for the year.

Jon Winkle, EPIC.LAN Managing Director, explains “Our 2021 Intel partnership allowed us to continue providing really important activities for the gaming community, keeping people socially active through lockdowns and then enabling a safe and careful return to physical events towards the end of the year. Intel really helped us to develop our community programme while securing more competitive prize pools for our upcoming esports teams participating in our tournaments. We look forward to working with Intel once again in 2022 to take our events and community to the next level.”

Mark Walton, EMEA Graphics and Gaming Comms Manager, added: “We're thrilled to continue our partnership with EPIC.LAN in 2022. Through a challenging year, EPIC.LAN continued to safely support the gaming community with its events and inclusive tournaments like the Intel Community Championship. As a leader in PC gaming, we at Intel are excited about the future of EPIC.LAN and look forward to engaging this growing community with the team throughout 2022.”

The next EPIC.LAN event takes place at Kettering Conference Centre from 24-27 February (COVID safety measures apply). Tickets and more information can be found at www.epiclan.co.uk.
